Los Angeles’ Downtown hub is one of the city’s fastest growing sectors; it seems that new boutiques and cafes appear everyday. Needless to say, Downtown LA is the place for the avid Java aficionado – so the Bunker Hill team upped their caffeine tolerance and sipped their way through the top spots in the area. Here are our five favorite Downtown cafes…
GROUNDFLOOR CAFE
This Parisian café (owned and operated by a couple of tres chic Frenchman, is the perfect marriage of technology and art. Located inside an art gallery that features the works of local artists, Groundfloor Cafe offers free wi-fi connection, delicious French pastries, and a delicious selection of alternative sandwiches: featuring the infamous Tuna Cranberry. Upon arrival you can see trendy hipsters tapping away at their laptops, girls in vintage dresses discussing the quality of the art displayed, and a few lone wolves simply enjoying the company of a good book while sipping their espresso. This cafe is pure escapism.

NIGHT TOAST CAFE
If you are tired of ordinary breakfast sandwiches and bagels, you should pay a visit to Night Toast Cafe. Night Toast has been serving traditional Jerusalem Sesame Bagels in Tel-Aviv since 1999, and their Downtown premises (which is their first US location) only opened earlier this year. They offer breakfast all day and free delivery; this is the perfect spot to change up your daily breakfast routine and titillate your taste buds with exciting Mediterranean flavors. The Mozzarella Pesto Sesame Bagel is unbelievable.

TIARA CAFE
Located in the Fashion District, the Tiara Cafe has the perfect slogan to attract the fashionistas who run between showrooms and PR firms trying to stay skinny: "Eat healthy more often, diet less.” And who doesn't love eating without worrying about their pants size? Offering relatively short business hours, the cafe specializes in hot and cold sandwiches with catchy names like ╲Freshâ•˙wich╡ and ╲Pressedâ•˙whichâ.• Everything here is very healthy and good for the soul. MARKET CAFE
The Market Café is not visible if you walk by without paying attention. Strategically set in the lobby of the Copper Building in the Fashion District, Market Café is a great spot to recharge your battery and enjoy the daily fashion parade. The café’s blue walls, along with wooden benches and metal furniture, create a refined industrial feel. They offer cozy indoor and outdoor seating, where you can enjoy the delicious sandwiches and salads available. Market Café also offers homemade pita snacks, a variety of sweets and a great selection of teas and smoothies; the best green tea latte downtown! Market Café is a great choice for a quick lunch while visiting Downtown’s Fashion District.

If you want a cappuccino that will instantly transport your taste buds to Italy, then you definitely need to stop by the Coffee Bar. With its distressed wooden shell, and entrance littered with tables, for you to kick back and enjoy the lovely Southern Californian weather. The long counter that wraps around the centre of the cafe can be a place of chance encounters that may even distract you from your magnetic laptop. In addition, the young baristas always serve your hot drink to you with a genuine smile.
