The SPX Pilate's system strives to strengthen, tighten, and tone the body safely and quickly. Indoor cycling allows you to increase your endurance and strength, while burning more calories than almost any other cardiovascular exercise done for the same amount of time.
The SPX system incorporates the principles of core stability and blends them with a fusion of muscle dynamics to incorporate a full body workout. It takes the lengthening and stretching principles of traditional Pilate's and combines them with strength training and cardio work for a unique and innovative workout. By using resistance and counter resistance to encourage maximum exertion to achieve muscle failure, the muscles can then recover more quickly in an effort to promote flexibility and elasticity. The classes combine a series of exercises that work the muscle groups separately, each exercise using a slow controlled movement lasting for one minute. After achieving muscle failure for each muscle group, the class works through the major muscle groups of the body, everything from the lower body to the core to the upper body, which helps develops a long and lean physique.
Indoor cycling literally and figuratively takes you on a ride full of hills and valleys, keeping your heart rate up to promote maximum cardiovascular potential. You climb hills and run, jog, and sprint, varying the resistance on the bike, to get the best results possible. A safe, simple but effective workout from steady endurance work to moderate hills to challenging runs and sprints, you get the benefits of intense cardio training like running without the harsh and sometimes damaging pressure on your joints. Many believe that cycling will only ‘build up my legs’, when in fact it is doing the opposite… it lengthens the large muscle groups in your legs while also incorporating isometric exercises in your upper body, all the while keeping your heart rate up to burn the most calories.
